“Good polite staff, competitive prices and prompt completion of work. The only area to improve was that I'd had a puncture and had to put the spare tyre on so had the punctured wheel in the boot. It would have been helpful if the spare wheel had been refitted back under the car instead of being put back in the boot. It was a bit awkward for me to do this myself as I'm disabled and the wheel was heavy”

One small point, hence a 4 star, it would be great if the guys could take that extra few minutes to clean off the remainder of the balance weight sticky residue from inside the wheels. I appreciate it's a small point and a pain and also that most people dont care, but I do and would like to see that tiny improvement without having to ask in the future.

“Shocking! After only using my van for very local journeys for the first week I then drove on the motorway to experience extreme vibration from the front of the vehicle. On closer examination I found there had been no weights fitted to the near side front wheel which would explain the vibration.
I spent several hours trying to call on Saturday the 28th of December and could get no response. I have tried again on the 30th and again no one answering the phone. I have emailed and as yet no response. I also recently had 4 tyres fitted on my BMW 330 and had to have them balanced by another company properly.
I will now have to pay again and spend more time getting a proper tyre fitter to balance my wheels.
I will not be returning to Pro-Tyre and will advise all my friends and family to do the same.”

“I had been called the previous evening to say my ordered tyres had not arrived. I still went to the garage, stated that I didn't know whether my tyres had arrived or not. Seems they hadn't but the man dealing with me was quickly on the phone to another local garage who had the same tyres in stock and then went to collect them so that I could get them fitted as planned. “Booking was MOT, greeting was okay but staff on counter failed to raise head and make eye contact and or introduce themselves when we entered establishment, this is okay but this does make customers feel undervalued.

Once confirmed MOT the booking in was satisfactory, staff explained process and waiting arrangements, no view of MOT was offered so on occasions left waiting area to car park to view car while being MOT.

Was a bit concerned at one point that during emissions test that tester was smoking in and out the garage?

Also could not see that the drivers seat was protected with temp cover, this became obvious when found marks on drivers seat and door.

Closing of MOT was kept updated of pending completion by counter staff, was given information on items of car to be aware of 5 mm brake pad left rear tyres getting low which was appreciated and I can monitor.”

“How Protyre could improve their service would be to double or triple check they have indeed put the wheels securely back in place? I left having had new disc brakes and pads and 2 new tyres ~ £400 worth of work. I had to return as 2 out of the 5 wheel nuts on one wheel had not been done up, at all, they were loose to the touch. I was horrified. It has made me paranoid and I will never trust anyone who deals with my car wheels and will always want to physically see them checked in the future before I leave the garage.
I was refunded £100 and the manager was very apologetic/sympathetic however, I am still furious and speaking with family/friends they feel Protyre got off lightly…”
